Asheville, NC (July 13, 2010) Conservation Pros, an Asheville, NC based building performance company, is pleased to announce their new Community Education Series. The company will be offering seminars and classes on topics such as energy efficiency, tax credits, stimulus incentives, energy retrofitting, indoor air quality, HVAC, and more.
The first free class in the series will be “Green Remodeling – Five things you can do to claim the energy tax credits in 2010”. This presentation will cover air sealing, insulation techniques, door and window replacement and solar and geothermal options. Carl Donovan, founder and owner of Conservation Pros, will cover five green remodeling measures you can take before the end of the year, in order to qualify for the Residential Energy Tax Credit.
This free class will have three components: Basics of building science, upgrades for the do-it-yourselfer and discussion about what is best done by a professional. While some of the measures will require qualified professionals, a few of them can be implemented by a homeowner with simple tools and a modest understanding of how buildings use energy. People who want to get their hands dirty with their own houses as well as people who want to know more about building science are welcome.
